At St. Eugene Catholic Church, our Confirmation program is more than just preparation for a sacrament — it is an invitation for teens to encounter Christ, grow in their Catholic faith, and become active disciples in the Church and community.

Confirmation is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic Church. Through this sacrament, teens receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit and are strengthened to live out their faith with courage, wisdom, and love. As they continue their journey with Christ, they are called to be witnesses of the Gospel in their homes, schools, parish, and community.

Our program is designed for teens entering 9th grade and typically follows a two-year preparation process. Throughout the program, teens participate in:

Faith Formation classes
Prayer and worship experiences
Service opportunities
Retreats and parish involvement
Community building and fellowship
Sacramental preparation and spiritual growth

We believe parents are the primary educators of the faith, and we encourage families to walk this journey together. Our goal is not simply to “complete requirements,” but to help teens build a real and lasting relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

Teens preparing for Confirmation are encouraged to:

Attend Mass faithfully every weekend and Holy Day
Participate actively in class discussions and parish life
Complete service hours with a spirit of love and charity
Choose a Confirmation saint as a model of holiness
Select a sponsor who can guide and support their faith journey

We welcome all teens, whether they have been in continuous faith formation or are returning to the Church after time away. Teens that have not been in SEEDS (faith formation) for at a minimum in the last year must complete the Reignite Summer Program. If your teen has unique circumstances or needs additional sacramental preparation, our Faith Formation office is happy to meet with your family to discuss the best path forward.

Reignite

The Reignite Program at St. Eugene Catholic Church is designed for teens who may need a fresh start in their faith journey. Whether a teen has been away from Faith Formation, missed foundational sacramental preparation, or simply needs a refresher in the basics of the Catholic faith, Reignite provides a welcoming and supportive environment to grow closer to Christ and reconnect with the Church.

This program helps teens rebuild and strengthen their understanding of the Catholic faith before entering or continuing sacramental preparation for Confirmation. Through engaging lessons, discussion, prayer, service, and fellowship, teens are invited to rediscover what it means to live as disciples of Jesus.

Reignite focuses on:

The basics of Catholic beliefs and teachings
Understanding the Mass and Sacraments
Prayer and relationship with God
Scripture and Catholic traditions
Building community and belonging
Growing confidence in living out the faith

Our goal is not simply academic learning, but spiritual renewal. We want teens to know they are loved, welcomed, and called by God no matter where they are in their faith journey.

The Reignite Program is especially helpful for:

Teens entering Confirmation preparation after time away from Faith Formation
Teens needing a refresher on First Communion basics
Teens transitioning back into parish life
Families seeking a supportive path toward sacramental readiness
